Third Annual Taste of Loomis  Friday, June 19…get your tickets!

About this time last year, I gave a little shout-out for Taste of Loomis, put on by the For One
Another Foundation. For those of you who attended, you can attest to the bounty
of libations, food and the wonderfulness of an evening spent strolling around
eating, drinking and donating to a terrific cause. I mean how great is that?!

Here’s how it goes: a ticket, $40, gets you into the event.
You can walk around looking at the silent auction items for bid, listen to live
music, dance, eat at will, sample the various offerings from local breweries
and wineries, meet amazing people who are also wanting to support clean water
projects and see yours truly. Yes, once again, Dennis and I will be handing out
delicious delights from The Green Elephant.
The blend of Burmese and Southeast Asian food remains one of our
favorite restaurants.

With the help of the For One Another Foundation, and other
donors and grants, Carrie Beth Bowin, the executive director for the foundation,
and I have taken over 325 water filters to Kenya.  These life-giving filters bring clean water
to over 3,000 people. Now that’s something worth shouting about. Carrie also
does work in Uganda, Ecuador, Guatemala and Haiti.

So, buy those tickets….and if you can’t come, you can still
donate:
